Labour Shadow Minister Diane Abbott caused controversy late on Wednesday night with an ill-advised ‘Tweet’. Her comments have shocked people across the political spectrum with Labour party members even calling for her to be sacked. From the Micro-blogging site twitter:

Diane has been a labour MP since 1987, and was the first Black Woman elected to the House of Commons. After a career on the back benches Diane rose to prominence as a regular on ‘This Week’ sitting alongside Michael Portillo on the infamous sofa. Last year Diane threw her hat into the ring for the Labour leadership, wishing to make the contest more diverse, after failing to make much of an impact she was made Shadow Public Health Minister.
Previously Diane Abbott has caused controversy through her comments about sending her son to a get a private education, claiming in an interview with Andrew Neil ‘West Indian mums will go to the wall for their children’. She has also had to appologise to the House of Commons after failing to declare £17,300 of earnings from the BBC.
